If customers find you on their phone, call you, book with you or ask for a quote, a good website makes that easier. I work with small, owner-run businesses across south-east Melbourne, including:
Most small business websites aren't bad on purpose. They were built years ago and nobody has had time to look after them. Here's what I see most often, and what I do about it.

Without HTTPS, browsers show "Not secure" next to your address. It puts customers off, and any form they fill in isn't encrypted.
FixHTTPS set up and checked, so the padlock shows and data is encrypted.
Old software and plugins that never get updated are a common way sites get broken into, filled with spam or redirected somewhere dodgy.
FixA clean rebuild or clean-up, then regular updates and backups.
A contact form that quietly stopped sending, or links that go nowhere. You might be missing enquiries and never know it.
FixForms that are tested and deliver to your inbox, and links that work.
Huge images and heavy themes make pages crawl, especially on mobile data. People give up before your page even loads.
FixLightweight pages, compressed images and fast hosting.
Missing page titles and descriptions, no Search Console, no link to your Google Business Profile. Google has a harder time understanding what you do and where.
FixThe Google basics done properly on every page.
If the only way to reach you is to call during business hours, you miss people who are browsing at night or on the weekend.
FixA simple booking request or quote form that sends straight to you.
No matter which package you choose, these come as standard. I also write the words for you, based on what you tell me about your business.
I hold a Master of Cybersecurity from La Trobe University. That doesn't make any website unbreakable, but it does mean security is part of how every site is set up and looked after, not an afterthought.
A regular look over your site: HTTPS, software versions, forms and anything unusual, with a short plain-English report.

Email me your business name and current website (if you have one). I'll design a homepage mockup so you can see what your new site could look like.
If you like it, reply "yes". I'll send a short one-page summary with the package, fixed price, timeline and what I'll need from you.
Only once you've seen the design and you're happy with it. Pay half to get started, by bank transfer.
Your logo (if you have one), 5 to 10 photos, and anything you'd like changed from the mockup. No logo or photos? We'll work something out.
I write the words, build the site and send you a private preview link to check on your own phone.
Tell me what you'd like changed, by email. Up to two rounds of changes are included.
I connect your domain, set up HTTPS and email protection, and your site goes live.
The second half is due once your site is live and you're happy with it.
On a care plan, I keep it hosted, backed up, updated and secure, and make the changes you email through.
You don't need to sit through calls or learn anything technical. Send things when it suits you, and I'll reply with clear next steps. Prefer to talk it through? A quick call is fine too, just ask.
Yes. Your domain is registered in your name and stays yours. The words, photos and content on your site are yours too. If you ever leave, I'll hand everything over.
Often, yes. Send me the link and I'll tell you honestly whether it's worth fixing or better to rebuild. The website tune-up is $199 one-off (for small sites; bigger jobs are quoted first), and $99/mo care is optional if you want me to keep it secure and updated, and if you later go for a full rebuild the $199 comes off the build price.
About 2 weeks from when you say yes, as long as I have your logo, photos and feedback in reasonable time. Bigger Pro sites can take a little longer, and I'll tell you upfront.
Your logo (if you have one), 5 to 10 photos of your work, shop or team, a few answers about your business, and access to your domain so I can connect it. I write the words. Everything else is handled by me.
Most clients prefer to just email changes through. Care plans include monthly edit time (30 minutes on Basic, 1 hour on Plus and Pro). If you'd like to edit some things yourself, mention it at the start and we'll talk through the options.
You keep your domain and your content. I'll give you your site files and help you move it to hosting of your choice. From then on, hosting, updates, backups and security are up to you.
The Business package's lower $490 build price comes with Care Plus for a minimum of 6 months. After that it's month-to-month: keep going, switch plans, or stop with 30 days' notice.
On any care plan, hosting is included. With a one-off Starter or Pro build and no care plan, you look after hosting yourself (I can point you to good options). Either way, your domain name renews yearly and is paid directly to the registrar in your name.
No one can honestly guarantee Google rankings, and you should be wary of anyone who does. What I do is get the basics right: page titles and descriptions, a fast mobile site, Google Search Console, and a link to your Google Business Profile. That gives Google what it needs to understand what you do and where.
50% deposit to start and 50% when your site goes live, by bank transfer. Care plans are billed monthly from launch. All prices are fixed and agreed in writing first.

I'm a web developer based in Noble Park, with a Master of Cybersecurity from La Trobe University. I build and look after websites for local businesses in south-east Melbourne.
I started Swoop Sites because so many great local businesses are hard to find online, or are stuck with websites that are slow, outdated or showing "Not secure". Those are fixable problems, and fixing them properly is something I genuinely enjoy.
I build every site myself and look after it myself. When you email, you get me, not a call centre or a ticket number. I keep things simple, explain them in plain English, and tell you honestly if something isn't worth doing.
